Transportation Dublin and Dalkey

TRANSPORTATION - DUBLIN

GETTING THERE

There are plenty of flights going to Dublin each day. The Dublin International Airport is super easy to use and navigate. The airport is located 10 km (6.2 miles) north of Dublin City and 27 km (17 miles) north of Dalkey Village. There are multiple ways to get to the villa from the airport, the best approach depends on the time of day, and number of passengers.

Choices for getting to and from the airport:

  1. Limo or private mini coach. This is a really great option for a large group traveling together. This needs to be reserved a head of time, please contact us for more information or to get a quote.

  2. Taxi will cost approximately 45 euros for up to 4 passengers from the Dublin International Airport to the Villa (Dalkey).

  3. Rent a car at the Airport Avis.com (US) gives better deals than Avis.ie (Irish site). Avis and Hertz are both conveniently located in between Terminal 1 and Terminal 2. You must reserve ahead of time. Rates will vary depending on the time of year. There is plenty of parking at the villa.

  4. Bus from the airport will take you to the center of Dalkey, from there, you can walk 10 minutes, or take a local taxi to the house. Bus fare from the airport is 9.50 euros.  You can buy a ticket online or on the bus. Click Here to see the time table.

Transportation into Dublin:
Once you are settled in to the house and you want to explore Dublin there there several ways to get there.  The center of Dublin is just 25 minutes away by car or 30 minutes by commuter rail (the DART). The villa is conveniently located just 10 minute walk from the local community rail station.
